Dolly is all softness pretending to be clay — a floppy body on a stiff chair, hair rolled strand by strand and a face that took a long afternoon. The build photographs are on their way.

a lump of clay and a pair of boots
She starts as a wedged lump and a mug of tools. The legs come first — seamed boots and patterned tights, modelled separately so they can carry the sitting pose.
